Driving positive change

Driving positive change

When we founded Evnex in 2014 we wanted to create something special. Yes, EV charging and reducing New Zealand’s carbon footprint was always at the heart of it, but we also wanted to create a purpose driven organisation that would have a positive impact in our local communities.

That was why we came up with Charging Our Charities in 2021, a program to support awesome charitable organisations across New Zealand by providing them with a free Evnex charger and installation.

In our latest round of Charging Our Charities, we’re proud to announce that Blue Light, a police-associated charity dedicated to empowering young people, has won one of our installed EV chargers. Blue Light will use the charger as part of a programme which helps at risk teens obtain their drivers licence in order to get work. Ultimately, the program aims to provide these young people with positive lifestyles and strategies to steer clear of crime.

Blue Light CEO Brendon Crompton was thrilled to win the Evnex charger. He emphasised the significance of this partnership in facilitating their transition to electric vehicles and maximizing their impact in the community.

Knowing that our charger will enable Blue Light to spend more time working directly with young people – rather than queuing at public charging stations – is pretty special.

At Evnex, we're committed to supporting organisations like Blue Light in their important work. Through initiatives like Charging Our Charities, we’re not only assisting these organisations in meeting their decarbonisation goals but also lowering the barrier of entry to electric mobility. We believe that by providing complete end-to-end EV charging systems, we can empower charitable organisations to embrace sustainable transportation solutions and make even more of a meaningful difference in their communities.
