FAQs
Yes, we do. All Evnex chargers have a hardwired, CT-based Solar Diversion feature compatible with any solar installation.
When enabled, Solar Diversion will identify when unused locally generated energy is being exported to the grid, and instead use this for EV charging — slowing the charge to match the exported solar.
If a customer wishes to charge at full speed, but doesn’t have enough available solar energy, they can override this with our “Charge Now’ feature — topping up the remainder from the grid.
Evnex is a New Zealand-grown, manufactured, and supported company, with additional sales & support teams operating out of Sydney, Australia.
Evnex products and software are wholely developed in-house in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Our dedicated support teams draw from all areas of expertise — including electricians, engineers, and the people who have built the chargers from the ground up.
Our cloud connection further allows us to provide real-time troubleshooting, ensuring you can receive prompt, accurate support.
And you’ll always be dealing directly with us, the manufacturer. You’ll have a first-party contact for whatever you need — no middlemen.
Charger types and configurations will be dependent on the customer, their home, and their EV charging needs.
Key considerations are vehicle connector type (Type 1 or Type 2), home electrical supply (single or three-phase), vehicle charging spec (single or three-phase and kW), and charging behaviour (‘speed’ required).
Speak to our team to ensure we can tailor the best charging solution for any installation.
Our chargers are compatible with any home power supply, solar system, and all electric vehicles across New Zealand.
We offer clients full turn-key solutions from single charger installations to complex multiple charger dynamic-load groups — including single and three-phase options — all backed by Home Overload Protection ensuring that the charger(s) never exceeds the home’s maximum supply capacity.
We do our best to accommodate unique home configurations, ensuring you don’t have to turn away business.
Some homes may require custom installation solutions at additional cost to the client, and all Evnex chargers will require a connection to the cloud via an included 4G-sim or Wifi (or Ethernet - X-series only).
Faster – Evnex chargers are up to four times faster than traditional 8A chargers, ensuring customers can charge as fast as solar and grid-supply allows.
Safer – EV chargers are load-hungry appliances. Our Home Overload Protection automatically adjusts the charge rate when the draw is high, avoiding power supply overload.
Smarter – take advantage of cheaper electricity tariffs through our scheduling feature, and help clients to better understand and adjust their charging footprint with live grid emission data — showing where their energy is generated and its emission makeup.
Other than standard equipment, you’ll need an EV charging adapter/simulator, allowing you to engage the charger for functional and electrical testing. You’ll also need a suitable MFT to verify 6mA DC leakage detection (RDC-DD).
These tools are required across most EV charger installations, and aren’t unique to Evnex.
You’ll also require access to an Evnex installer account and the installation app for commissioning — which we will provide.
