Price includes standard installation by an Evnex-certified installer. Final cost depends on your wiring, switchboard, and charger location. You can use our installer or your own licensed electrician and buy the charger unti only. (Learn how to assess your home setup LINK)
Snow is recommended for indoor use only as it can discolour outdoors.
The time it takes to fully charge a typical EV battery from 0% to 100%. Specific charging time depends on your vehicle’s onboard battery size.
Maximum km of driving range added per hour, based on an efficient vehicle.
Longer cables give more flexibility in where you install the charger, or where you park your car. They also ensure the cable will reach the socket no matter where it is on the vehicle.
Evnex chargers work with all EVs on Australian and New Zealand roads that use a Type 2 charging port - the standard for new vehicles. If you're unsure or have an imported vehicle, contact our customer service team
Charges at full speed using energy from the grid.
Schedule your charging to use only your excess solar power without drawing from the grid, giving you free kilometres from sunshine.
Continuously monitors your home’s energy use and reduces charging speed to prevent using more than your capacity. No tripped circuits, no annoying callouts, and no need to worry about safety.
Set charging to occur when energy prices are low, or tell it when to make use of excess solar (for all chargers except the E2 Flex). Behaviour can be the same every day, or vary across the week.
Backed by a four-year residential and three-year commercial warranty - longer than most, because Evnex stands behind its engineering and locally built quality.

Answers to your questions
Yes, we do — all Evnex chargers except the E2 Flex come with solar smarts compatible with any home solar set-up or battery (and you can upgrade the E2 Flex for solar for a one-off sum of $349).
When enabled, solar diversion will identify when unused locally generated energy is being exported to the grid, and instead use this for EV charging — slowing the charge to match the exported solar.
If a customer wishes to charge at full speed, but doesn’t have enough available solar energy, they can override this with our “Charge Now" feature — topping up the remainder from the grid.
Yes, we install our chargers throughout Australia and New Zealand. Our network of local, friendly, professional electricians is well-trained on our products and can offer expert advice on all of your charging needs.
Install price will vary with added complexity. You can read more about what goes into installation pricing here, or get a quick, obligation-free quote online here.
Following your installation, we'll provide ongoing support — whether you're an EV driver, business owner, or fleet manager.
A standard home EV charger, like ours, draws about 32 amps. To put this in perspective:
- Your washing machine uses about 10 amps
- An air conditioner might use 20 amps
- An induction cooktop can use up to 32 amps
This means if you’re using a lot of other electrical appliances — e.g. a heat pump, oven, lights, and dishwasher — then charging your EV on top of this could cause an overload.
When your charger is installed, it will be set up with overload protection: this allows the charger to monitor your home's power supply and adjust charging speed to prevent overloading your circuits and tripping the power.
All Evnex chargers come with overload protection, so you can keep your home or business safe while charging.
You can read more about home overloads and how to prevent them here.
Yes, all Evnex chargers are compatible with the vast majority of EVs.
If you have an unusual make, or have an import requiring a Type 1 charging cable, reach out to our sales team (sales@evnex.com) and they'll discuss how we can best meet your needs.
Our chargers are compatible with the majority of homes, and can be installed indoors or out. They can even be installed at homes with limited electrical spare capacity, thanks to our home-overload protection.
If you’re in an apartment, we recommend getting in touch with our sales team to discuss your options.
The CT controls the home overload protection and solar diversion features, so without it the customer isn't getting the product they've requested.
